

JERRY MADIBA
HOD SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Jerry Madiba is an experienced professional with a strong background in agriculture and education. He served as the CEO of AgriSETA from 2008 to 2017, where he worked closely with agricultural stakeholders, including AgriSA and commodity organizations, and partnered with numerous FET Colleges and Colleges of Agriculture across the country. His role involved managing relationships with over 200 service providers and farmers, facilitating essential agricultural training.
With a career spanning education, skills development, and innovation, Mr. Madiba has held key positions, including teacher, principal, and chief education specialist at the National Department of Education. He has also worked as a learnership manager at SETAs and an Innovation Senior Manager at the Department of Science and Technology. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Agriculture, an Honours Degree, a Master’s in Agricultural Economics, and a Bachelor of Education Honours.
After his time as CEO, he trained facilitators, assessors, and moderators at Tsolo College of Agriculture. Between 2021 and 2022, he worked with SANACO on skills development initiatives, rolling out entrepreneurial programs in multiple provinces. In 2023, he provided training for the African Farmers Association (AFASA) and led Broiler Production training for 25 learners.
Mr. Madiba is currently the Head of Skills Development for the Community Transformation Accelerator Program (CTAP), where he continues to develop and implement skills development strategies aimed at empowering communities. His strengths include strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to navigate complex negotiations.
